History:
Arthur Brown is one of the brightness minds of our time.  As a young child, he mastered mathematical problems at a secondary school level.  His parents enlisted him in an advanced school for gifted children.  He graduated prior to his twelfth birthday.  By the time he turned 18, he had completed his undergraduate degree from M.I.T and had started to work on his theory of nano-technology.  He attended Yale University to obtain his medical degree.  While there, he met a young business and computer science major, Alexander Taylor.  The two formed a life-long friendship.  Brown returned to Toronto and reunited with the woman he had been in love with since his childhood.  Claire Chevalier exhibited the beauty of angel and the innocence of a child.  Even though he had seen very little of her when he was going to the private schools, Brown remained in love with her with all his heart.  At the age of 20, they married and he began his internship at St. Michael's Hospital.  Brown's skills were in high demand, but he had always planned to start his own business.  Three year later, his dream came true.  Brown Corp. became a recognized leader in the burgeoning field of electronics, at one point surpassing the revenue of Taylor Enterprises' technology wing.  But his personal dreams would come to an abrupt end.  One evening, when he and his wife were walking home through one of Toronto's busiest parks they were attacked by thugs.  Brown did his utmost to defend his wife, but without any formal training in self-defense, the overpowering thugs nearly killed him.  By the time they ended the assault, Claire had been severely beaten.  He rushed her to hospital, but she would not recover.  The police eventually arrested the perpetrators, but Claire’s justice would be denied.  Bribery, threats and extortion would influence the outcome.  When the case was dismissed and the thugs were free, Brown was outraged, swearing that he would get even with the attackers.  Brown studied various forms of self-defense, but he needed more.  He gained knowledge of an ancient art that would transform him into the ultimate weapon and the name of powerful master, a mentor.  He travelled to Japan to meet Makoto Tanaka and begged for training in the Shadow Art.  Tanaka, at first, refused until Brown saved his granddaughter’s life; he owed the young doctor a life debt.  Brown spent four years in Japan, learning to control his anger and using his newfound mental and physical strength to train his body and mind.
Upon returning to Canada, he created the Mark I combat suit and the Shadow Chaser was born.
Brown found the ones responsible for Claire’s death, demonstrating the thugs’ involvement in the killing and exposing that evidence had been tampered with during the trial.  But Shadow Chaser did not stop there.  He spent a decade fighting evil as the ghost of justice.  However, in 1987, he fashioned the fedora and cape for the last time, after suffering a career ending injury while up against Antonio Stavros.  Now, Brown is the Crypt Keeper of the Shadow Crypt and mentors Kevin as he becomes the new Shadow Chaser.
